Childhood, a time of immense growth, change and development, is an essential part of our life-cycle. It is a time of wonder, experimentation, joy and learning.

Life gives us a myriad of experiences and navigating this path can be quite tricky. At different times on this journey, children can experience increased stress, and may need a little bit of extra support and guidance.

Stress shows up as a change in behaviour that is out of the ordinary for our child. They may lack the insight or language to be able to tell us what is going on, or that something doesn’t feel right, but stress in children can show up in different ways such as; changes in sleep patterns, eating habits, complaints of aches and pains, difficulty concentrating, behaviour changes or the development of fears. Perhaps the best indicator of stress in a child is our noticing that they just aren’t their usual self.
